‘NOT ADMITTED’ – If your admission status shows not admitted, this is because your school of choice is yet to send the list of admitted students to JAMB. However, if your school has sent the list and ‘Not admitted’ still shows on your admission status, it means you have not been offered admission by the school of your choice.
‘RECOMMENDED’ – A ‘Recommended’ message on your admission status profile indicates that your school of choice has offered you admission but Jamb is still reviewing your admission.
‘ADMISSION IN PROGRESS’ – If you see admission in progress on your profile, it means that you have met the requirements for admission but you are not yet considered for admission due to some issues like male to female ratio, admission quota, wrong O’level results uploading, etc. So, you still have a chance of being admitted. Ensure that you check and rectify some areas that need to be rectified on your profile and check back for the right admission message.

What does Transfer Approval mean on JAMB CAPS?
Transfer Approval is for candidates whose first choice institution wanted to transfer from their initial chosen course to another course. This is necessary if such a candidate could not meet up with the cut of mark for his/her initial course. If such a candidate’s cut-off mark is still high to secure admission in the first choice institution, he/she can change the course that requires his/her score. Most candidates are unaware of this and have lost admission because they had no idea they could transfer from one course to another to be admitted.
So, below are the steps to follow to make use of the ‘Transfer Approval’ section on CAPS.
Step 1: Log into Caps via https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility
Step 2: Input your email and password.
Step 3: Check admission status.
Step 4: Select your examination year, and fill in your registration number in the required column.
Step 5: Click on the ‘Access my Caps’ profile.
Step 6: On the left side of the page, locate and click on ‘Transfer Approval’.
Step 7: Click on Accept or Reject button. If you accept, your choice of institution will admit you into your new course. If you reject, you will not be granted admission at all, by your choice of institution.
However, if you accept the transfer approval, you are required to apply for a change of course in your choice of institution. This will enable the new course to reflect on your admission letter when you are admitted.
