The WAEC General Certificate of Education. (GCE) , is an O- level assessment that was founded specifically for aspirants that do not attend any secondary school at the time of the assessment (private candidates)

If for one motive or the other you are not currently enrolled in any secondary school, this arrangement is made for you.

Every year, the number of aspirants hoping to participate in this examination increases, and because of this, the West African Examination Council (WAEC), the body regulating the assessment, divided this assessment to make two series.

This means that the assessment is to be conducted in two batches.

Hence the emergence of the terminology: first series GCE and second series GCE.

The subject combination for the assessment would include Mathematics and Use of English ( these are compulsory), and other subjects to be chosen by the candidates. This choice is to be influenced by the requirements of the candidate’s future course of study.

Note that the candidate is to enrol for a minimum of seven subjects and an utmost of 9 subjects.

The regulatory body has declared openly that the enrollment process is to start on December 20th of this year, 2021. And end on January 21st of next year,2022.

The approved registration fee is a sum of Eighteen thousand naira (#18 000) only.

To register candidates would need to submit documents and personal details like National identification Number (NIN), Date of Birth and so on.

Prospective aspirants are to pay this N18 000, to accredited merchants to obtain a Registration PIN. Here is a schedule of the accredited merchants, from where you can purchase your GCE Registration PIN:

  • WEMA Bank Plc
  • First Bank of Nig. Plc
  • First City Monument Bank Plc
  • Guaranty Trust Bank Plc
  • Heritage Bank Plc

  • Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc
  • Standard Chartered Bank Plc
  • Zenith Bank Plc
  • Union Bank of Nigeria Plc
  • United Bank for Africa Plc

You would need to pay an additional fee of N500 to these merchants to get your PIN, this is the approved commission fee.

WAEC GCE Registration Second Series Guidelines

This PIN would grant the candidate access to a registration form. Visit this site:WAEC (private candidates) registration ,to access the registration form.

You would be instructed to fill in demographic information ( date of birth, residential address, state of origin. etc), as is related to the assessment.

You would also need to provide biometric information ( your fingerprints). As well as facial pictures to complete the profile.

Here you would also get to choose your subject combination.

In doing this, make sure that all information you are providing is accurate and up to date, to avoid inconsistencies on your results and certificate.

The regulatory body would not take responsibility for any errors you make in your registration process.

After completion of your enrollment, make sure to print the evidence of the fulfilment of registration ( photo card). This would contain your details and other details such as your examination date and Center.

Remember to take this along with you to the examination centre on the date of your assessment.

Note that you need to complete your registration within 2 weeks from the moment you first access the registration form.

The WAEC has also made provision for walk-in candidates to partake in the GCE examination.

Walk-in candidates are those aspirants who for some reason or the other could not register before the deadline for the registration process expired.

People in this category still have the opportunity to register 24 hours before the date of the paper they plan to take.

However, the enrollment expense for this category of people is different. For this category, the registration fee is Thirty-Five Thousand Naira (#35 000).

Can people with disabilities enrol for WAEC GCE 2022?

Yes!!

People with disabilities can also register to take part in the WAEC GCE 2022.

The enrollment protocol for them remains similar, the only difference is that it should be specified when filling the enrollment outline that such a candidate is disabled.

The nature of disability also should be specified.

GCE 2022 Registration Date

WAEC GCE registration closes on 17th October 2022 and the PIN generation closes on 15th October 2022 . Respective candidates are implored to have perform their registration, capturing, biometrics, and must have submitted all the required information before the registration deadline.

Is GCE form out for 2022 2023?

No,GCE form is not yet out! WAEC GCE Interested candidates are to be informed that WAEC GCE will be out after the WAEC examination.

Is WAEC GCE registration 2022 still on?

Well yes!

The enrollment process has begun and is continuing till this moment.

This enrollment procedure is scheduled to close on the 21st of January 2022.

If you are unable to enrol before the expiration of the deadline, then you would need to enrol for the second series.

Yes, the examination calendar for the GCE first series 2022 has been released.

The official opening date for this as stipulated by the calendar is January 31st 2022.

The examinations would come to an end on the 19th of February 2022.
